UKCA marking
also: UKCA · UK Conformity Assessed
Great Britain's post-Brexit conformity mark; for most electronics the UK now accepts CE marking indefinitely, so UKCA is generally optional.
After leaving the EU, the UK created the UKCA mark for products placed on the market in Great Britain, with UK legislation and "designated standards" mirroring the EU equivalents. In 2023 the government announced that CE marking would continue to be recognized indefinitely for many product categories, including those covered by the UK versions of the EMC, Low Voltage and Radio Equipment rules, and it later extended this to further areas such as RoHS, so manufacturers can generally use either mark.
Some sectors, such as medical devices and construction products, follow different rules and timelines, Northern Ireland follows EU rules under separate arrangements, and UK-specific obligations, such as identifying the GB importer, can still apply.
Founder takeaway
For most electronics CE marking is still accepted in Great Britain; confirm the current rules and labeling for your product category before shipping to the UK.
